How can Solution Focused Hypnotherapy help me?

SFH is a quick process, designed to reach your personal goals by creating new thought and behaviour patterns that are beneficial and moving towards where you want to be in life.

Rather than exploring negative experiences or issues, we concentrate on life in the present and your future, overcoming challenges and making positive changes to move forward.

We look to break the cycle of negative thought, anxiety and behaviour patterns and focus on healthy neuropathways, building and strengthening these using trance and relaxation.

Hourly sessions consist of psychotherapy, trance and relaxation.

What is trance? 

We all go into trance naturally during the day, when we are driving, in the zone, concentrating on one task. For your hypnotherapy part of the session, I guide you through this peaceful state and use it to strengthen positive thought patterns to support your goals. Many people enjoy this as they are in complete control, and it involves just getting comfortable and relaxing! 

The brain absorbs information easily when we rest so this is an optimum time to build on the work, we have completed in the first half of the session. 


 What will I need to do?

Just attend sessions and join in! We work together, this is a two-way process; clients get the most out of solution focused therapy when participating so, all you need is an open mind and willingness to be in a safe space to think about what you want. The sessions follow a simple format involving some questions in the first half before heading into trance and relaxation for the second.  

I will share with you some helpful tools to strengthen the positive work achieved in therapy, commitment to implementing this between sessions supports swift changes and moving towards your desired goals and wishes. 

Will I be in control? 

Yes, you will be in control the whole time. You cannot be made to do anything you don’t want to. Solution focused therapists follow a strict code of conduct, and the highest respect and treatment will be always given to clients. We talk through the client agreement before sessions commence. 

What if I cannot be hypnotised? 

Anyone who wants to access hypnotherapy can be hypnotised. I guide you through trance with information, re-affirming positive patterns for the brain to process in this calming place of mind. Exceptions are if someone is under the influence of mind-altering substances such as drugs or alcohol or who may have restrictive mental impairment conditions.

How long are the sessions?

One hour unless it is for smoking or vaping cessation. These are one-off two-hour sessions.
